Art Sohyang will hold the 《Oriental Fantasy》 from October 11 (Thursday) to November 24 (Saturday), 2018, introducing Hansaem Park (b.1981~) and Junho Lee (b.1972~). The two artists are expanding new horizons in Korean painting by interpreting the landscape of the East in a new light.
Since ancient times, landscape painting has been the most beloved and best regarded genre among many genres of painting in the East. Hansaem Park reproduces the aura of space using only the most basic and traditional materials of ink and paper, such as ink and paper. Junho Lee uses a Western material called acrylic, but draws his own modern Jinkyung landscape based on traditional landscape painting. This exhibition will be a time to look at how two artists with distinctly different personalities try to solve the traditional 'landscape' with the use of contemporary art.
